Lavastone is a natural product. It is formed when lava from a volcano hardens and turns into stone. This process occurs naturally during volcanic eruptions. Lavastone has the property that, when the lava flows out of the volcano, it pulls everything it encounters along its path – paper, iron, and any other material it finds are absorbed into the lava. When the lavastone is subsequently extracted, it is impossible to see what is inside it. The 'green spots' are pieces of iron within the stone that turn green during baking in the oven at 950°C. Green spots are not a defect, and they do not cause any problems over time. The spots also cannot spread or cause any issues.
